A single exposure of six hours and forty minutes, made on 8 by 10 sheet film on a Tuesday in March 2023.

The building is a regional tax office completed in 1971 and used by roughly nine hundred people a day. None of them is present in the photograph. At this exposure length a human figure has to stand still for around twenty minutes to register at all, and nobody visiting a tax office does that.

What does register is the movement of light across the concrete over most of a working day, which flattens the facade into an almost even tone, and a faint darkening at the lower left where a service vehicle was parked for the afternoon.
