An exception. Nagai released four single sheets in 2024, the first individual drawings to leave the studio in twenty-seven years, at the request of a conservation fund she supports.
She has been clear that this will not be repeated. The series is a single work and the blocks are the smallest unit she recognises. Asked why she agreed at all, she said that the fund needed money and she had a great many sheets.
Paper from the winter of 2021, the poorest batch of the last decade, thin and inclined to cockle. The sheet is supplied float-mounted in a museum-grade frame.
