Four paintings by Marta Enkel are included in Wet Paint, a group exhibition of eleven painters working alla prima, at the Frans Hals Museum from 19 September 2026 to 10 January 2027.
The premise is narrow and technical, which suits her: every work in the show was completed in a single sitting. Enkel is the youngest artist included and the only one who destroys the failures.

The presentation pairs four grey canvases by Wies Doorn from 1963 to 1969 with new work by Ilse Krohn, Yolanda Prieto and Sona Petrosyan. It is the first time the Doorn estate has been shown outside the Netherlands.

Ilse Krohn will talk with the conservator Anneke Ruitenbeek at Hazenstraat on Saturday 29 August at 15:00, in the rooms of Slow Weather.
The conversation will centre on ground preparation and on the nine years Krohn spent working as a paper conservator before she painted full time, a period she describes as the actual education. Ruitenbeek is head of paper conservation at the Rijksmuseum.

Sona Petrosyan has been awarded a ten-month fellowship at the Villa Massimo in Rome, beginning February 2027.
She intends to work on cancelled Italian civic commissions of the 1970s, a body of material she has been reading since 2023 but has not yet drawn. It would be the first time the series moves outside the Caucasus and Central Asia.
Her first Dutch solo exhibition, Second Alphabet, opens at Hazenstraat on 18 September.
Teruko Nagai will show three consecutive years from the daily series at the Aichi Triennale, opening 12 September 2026. It is the largest presentation of the work to date at 1,095 sheets, and the first time three full years have been hung together.
Nagai has supplied a single hanging diagram for the whole run. The Triennale has allocated a 34 metre wall.
Borry Noord is open Thursday to Sunday, 12:00 to 18:00, throughout the summer, with GROUNDWORK: 2026 Summer Exhibition running until 27 September.
The hall is unheated and partly uncovered, so on a wet day it is genuinely cold. Dress accordingly. The ferry from Centraal Station to NDSM runs every fifteen minutes and takes fourteen minutes.
Hazenstraat keeps its usual hours, Tuesday to Saturday, 11:00 to 18:00.
Emeka Nwosu will show six slabs at the 2026 Lagos Biennial, opening 24 October, all of them drawn from Lagos material and covering the years 1988 to 2006.
It is the first time the Lagos blocks have been shown in the city whose printed matter they contain. Nwosu has been asked repeatedly whether they will be opened for the occasion. They will not.
Adrien Vasco has been commissioned to make a permanent work for the Waalhaven, to be installed in the spring of 2028.
The commission specifies that the material must come from decommissioned equipment in the port itself, which is how Vasco works anyway and which he says is the first time a client has written his own method into a contract. At an estimated 4.2 tonnes the piece will be roughly twice the weight of anything he has made, and it will be cast on site rather than in Marseille.

The Kröller-Müller Museum has acquired Untitled (Utrecht 22), 1967, and Untitled (Utrecht 29), 1968, from the Estate of Wies Doorn.
Both were included in The Grey Years at Hazenstraat last winter and neither had been shown since 1969. They join a body of Dutch post-war abstraction that the museum has been rebuilding since 2018.
Doorn made around a hundred and forty paintings in nine years and then taught for the rest of her life. Twenty-six works remain with the Estate.
Fifty Years of the Skagerrak, a survey of Hedda Lindqvist’s weaving, opens at Bildmuseet Umeå on 3 October 2026 and runs to 21 February 2027.
Twenty-two works, including the earliest surviving piece from 1977 and the logbooks she has kept since the 1970s, which are being exhibited for the first time. Lindqvist has said she is more nervous about the logbooks than the weavings.
